Description:Düva Dususow is a respected elder of the Dususow clan, and is regarded as the most knowledgable authority on oral history, genealogy, and mythology. He is the pastor of the Christian Fellowship Church of Buragaon, and enthusiastic about the preservation of the Hrusso Aka language, and has composed many hymns in his native tongue. He is an active member of the newly-formed Hrusso Aka Orthography and Literature Group. The recording recounts a genealogy of the Shañ-Ĝübzü, from mythical beginnings up through history and on to people now alive. The text follows a genealogical narrative formula. The place of recording: Düva Dususow's house, Buragaon Village Equipment used: video - Canon XA20 video camera audio - Superlux S502 stereo microphone still - Canon 700D Recording conditions: Typical village situation, with background noise coming from children and animals and occasional vehicles. Notes about defects in the recording: The video begins abruptly because the camera was off during the initial few seconds. As I, Vijay, was setting up, Dorjee was interacting with the consultant to make him feel at more at ease with the recording process. At this point I realised that the contents of this conversation was not only worthy of recording, but of great interest, above and beyond the story that was expected to be recounted, so briefly asked whether it was alright to commence recording, to which the speakers assented. What was missed from the beginning of this recording was repeated early in bundle hru_1205_history, and so, for the sake of allowing the speaker to speak unhindered and in a natural manner, I deemed necessary to continue the recording without recapping. Both Dorjee and Düva were in animated conversation and I did not wish to break the flow.
