Description: | Düva Dususow is a respected elder of the Dususow clan, and is regarded as the most knowledgable authority on oral history, genealogy, and mythology. He is the pastor of the Christian Fellowship Church of Buragaon, and enthusiastic about the preservation of the Hrusso Aka language, and has composed many hymns in his native tongue. He is an active member of the newly-formed Hrusso Aka Orthography and Literature Group. Düva describes the history of the Shañ-Ĝübzü and Kutso-Lori clans, who are known respectively as 'Kapas Khor' and 'Hazari Khowa' clans in the British colonial literature about the Hrusso Aka tribe. He begins his history from the time of Ban Raja, and goes on to narrate the stories of Arimatto and Bhaluka, following a narrative right up to the present day. Düva also recounted tales of Tage Raja, who features prominently in British records as a significant figure from the tribe due to his clashes with officials and forest outposts. This is a very important historical narrative, formerly known by all, but now known by few; Düva is one the last members of the tribe who know it in its full completeness. Therefore, although it is long, it is of great significance to the tribe and so its recording was a priority both for myself and tribal elders, so that it may be preserved in its fullness for posterity. The place of recording: Düva Dususow's house, Buragaon Village Equipment used: video - Canon XA20 video camera audio - Superlux S502 stereo microphone still - Canon 700D Recording conditions: Typical village situation, with background noise coming from children and animals and occasional vehicles. hello | |
