Description:		Anastacio Nicolás Damián menciona que el wa:wkilit rojo, blanco y el ahmolkilit (Phytolacca rivinoides Kunth & C.D. Bouché) son parecidos. También los conoce como kilto:ni:l. Las hojas de todas son comestibles. Se preparan de dos maneras. La primera es guisado en sartén o cazuela con manteca y cebolla y, si uno quiero, con chilito. La segunda es hervida en caldo. No se debe cocinar con semillas porque así la comida sale de color negro; las semillas le dan este color al caldo. Algunos restriegan las hojas en las manos dejándolas como molidas antes de freirlas.
