| Description: | José Ernesto Vázquez Chanico y Fidel Juárez Galván hablan del owakilit una planta cuyas quelites se consumen en tamales cuando todavía están tiernas porque recias saben amargos. Los tamales hechas con esta quelite son muy ricos. La raíz del owakilit no se entierra tanto, el tallo es hueco y muy frágil y las hojas se marchitan muy pronto. Vázquez comenta que él solamente sabe de su uso en tamales y no que se come hervida como tomakilit (Solanum americanum Miller). Hablan después de plantas comestibles distintas al owakilit tales como el tomakilit, el pachkilit (xx) y el ihtikoyokkilit, que algunos llaman xa:lxo:xompe. Finalmente, mencionan que cuando iban a trabajar al campo también atrapaban camarones para alimentarse. | |
