Description: | As SUK1 and HGS1 sat down to have another recording session on the depths of the Jejuan lexicon and grammar, HYJ1 came by and took part in this session. A couple of lexical items from jeju0092 were repeated here, with some others acquired by SUK1 recently, and needing confirmation by native speakers. Taking advantage of the casual atmosphere, SUK1 deliberately allowed for tangents to happen naturally, which is why this recording also has conversational elements in it, in a sense that the conversational interaction was not always about the elicitation per se. The actual grammatical topic of this session, the expression of present tense, begins in jeju0093-05, and has some interesting insights to offer that might not have been that clear from looking at naturalistic speech data only. jeju0093-04 is an intermezzo, where the three people briefly chat. jeju0093-08, the last file in this series, is a casual chat between HGS1 and HYJ1 only, after the elicitation finished and SUK1 left the room.
This project aims at building an annotated audio-video corpus of spoken Jejuan with a focus on conversational genres, supplementing existing documentation of narratives and songs.
