| Description: | When the sun was a person, she roasted a tortoise and shared it with her son. But the son wanted to eat it all himself and began to cry. The sun left him in the shade while she went off gathering raisin berries. When she returned he was still crying but would not let her pick him up. So the sun said, "Because of your refusal I am going to leave you." She tucked her skin cloak between her legs and jumped up into the sky and became the sun. Her child became the white-bellied sunbird who continually cries, "Wah, wah, wah!" | |
