In collaboration with Cultural Consultant, Paul Tevlone, below are description details. SG1–011-01: The audio recording in this file contains an interview between Pius K Tevlone, Kaimun clan leader and his uncle Pairie, Kaimun Klang faction leader and elder of Setwai village. The interview centered on the story and history of the Kaimun clan immigration and settlement journey from inland of Setwai village and then continuing south to Taimtop, Bain, Lop and Maskilklie of the Mengen tribe, and north to Kilalum village and beyond. The Kaimun clan traditional customary landownership rights to the area of land inland of Setwai village play a very significant role in the history of the Kaimun clan and the Sulka tribe. It is the second major original home of the Kaimun clan and it is where a lot of it’s first generation sub-clans were formed and then break off the Kaimun mother clan, including also its five (5) factions, to then go their own separate ways. SG1–011-02: This audio file contains recording of an interview between Martin T Tevlone, Kaimun clan elder and Wankop, Kaimun clan leader and elder of Kilalum village. The interview is about the life story of Wankop and his family, including his personal life journey and what the future holds for his family in Kilalum after he has passed on. The recording is a sad and moving account of the family life story of one of the Kaimun clan’s last elder and leader of his generation to live and die in Kilalum village. SG1–011–03: The audio recording in this file is an interview by Pius K Tevlone with his father John Tevlone, who at the time holds dual leadership roles over the Kaimun clan and the Tling. The interview is also for John Tevlone to hand over the dual leadership role to his son Pius K Tevlone before his passing. It is traditional customary requirement and obligation for John Tevlone to do that witnessed by very senior members of the two clans and relatives, including one of his very close friend and in-law Tlomar who is also heard talking in the recording. John Tevlone also talks about his life journey as a young man to settle at Kilvar village where he pioneered the Kilvar village then got married to his wife Joyce Pamsiengaiel, and when he died was buried in the middle of the Kilvar village. SG1–011-04: The audio recording in this file contain Sulka tribe singers singing traditional “Mgaieng Songs” in the night on the eve of a “Nik” feast at Kilvar village. The Nik feast and ceremony was held to reward and compensate people who have help and contributed in some way to the burial ceremony of Tling & Kaimun clan’s leader John Tevlone who died in 1968 at Kilvar village. The Mgaieng singing and dancing was normally done in the night from about 8pm to 7am in the morning the next day.
