Clara Kusos Darr discusses the traditional way that women dealt with their menstrual periods in her mother's time and compares it to how young women of her daughter's generation deal with this time. She is critical of this modern behavior, commenting that young women are violating taboos, such as cooking food for men during their menstrual period.
