Description:Waliamso Malo, a resident of Duraliang village, Lohit District; A.P, narrates about origin of Malo clan. According to him, the first man who became malo was a fishmen, who used to do fishing by an instrument; however whenever he does fishing, the fishing instrument was always thrown back. So to check that, the said person cut split the fishing instrument into two parst. After having split the instrument into two parts, a small frog came out of it but it flew to the sky. The fishermen may not be an ordinary person. During the period of incident, the lizard, Tani, mouse use to be priests. After 5 days the said the frog which had flown to sky came back with a powerful instrument. The said person became a priest. Even today, if someone perform rituals he has to take the name of Malo in disquise. Thats how the Malo clan came into being. Originally, the Malo resided at Tarapliang, near Chipru, now in Anjaw. .
