		Description: A 20–30 m tall tree with 15–20 cm long leaves which look like mango leaves. The bark and leaves are white. The leaves fall off in March and the tree is leafless until May. It grows in valleys and on riverbanks, where there are many tall trees. This tree is very danger¬ous for some people who are allergic to it (rák ~), more danger¬ous than other poisonous trees. If people are poi¬soned, they have an itch, and then they get blisters all over their bodies. A few days later, the blisters are filled with pus. Those who are poisoned by this tree should collect and boil staghorn fern (twá tŋkə̀ər) and Lithocarpus (rñkɛ̀ɛñ) leaves and wash their bodies with the extract. Some-times a storm breaks off the tree or its branches, and the wind blows the dust over a long dist¬ance. When people are walking through that area, they can be poisoned by a broken tree. Sometimes a tree falls into water, and people who are bathing down¬stream can be poisoned. After bathing they will feel an itch and get small blisters all over their bodies. The poi¬son is not dangerous for animals, however, and bears, squirrels, monkeys and birds eat the fruits without being poisoned. Sometimes a hunter kills an ani¬mal which has eaten the poisonous fruits, and when he cuts the animal’s belly open he may get poisoned.
