		Description: A 10–15 m tall tree with white trunk and leaves. The leaves are 20–25 cm wide. The sap is red. It grows in low places, close to rivers and streams. Places with many Macaranga trees are good for growing rice. The wood is hard but not very strong, so people use it only for build¬ing temporary field-houses. The leaves are used for wrapping up cooked rice, food and other things. The small leaves are used for making cigars (múu-lìi).
