Comments: Reel 1 of 1, No.3. 28 minutes. "Potlatch," a radio program designed for Alaska Natives, returns to the air this month. Potlatch was produced by KUAC FM from September 1974 to July 1975, and was broadcast by 25 radio stations in Alaska. The program again will consist of popular music, public service messages and interviews with Alaska Natives concerning land claims, education, pipeline impact, self-determination, literature, music and the arts. Co-producers of Potlatch will be Moses Wassilie and Geoff Kennedy, both KUAC staffers. Potlatch will air at 7 p.m.. Tuesdays on KUAC FM beginning Jan. 5, and will be broadcast at different times in other Fairbanks -stations. The program also will be distributed statewide 1 ; "We have to sell Potlatch to the Native people," Kennedy said. "We have to sell them the idea that this program is their tool of communication with fellow Natives and felow Alaskans." Produced under Title I of the higher education act, Potlatch will be on their air at least until June 30,1976. "Whether we get funds to continue beyond," Kennedy added, "depends on how good a job we do of selling the idea of the progrm to Alaska Natives."
