From start�29m45, this recording duplicates ANLC0746A (i.e., two separate, partially overlapping recordings of the same session, with this recording continuing after ANLC0746A ends). Focuses on Jeff Leer's hypothesis concerning the emergence of Tsuut'ina mid tone from Proto-Athabaskan unmarked reduced vowels, and Tsuut'ina high tone from PA unmarked full vowels. At 1m30, Jeff notes exceptions to this hypothesis in PA unmarked full vowels in verb stems, which appear with mid tone (rather than high tone) in Tsuut'ina. From 3m45�8m15, Jeff and Bruce explore Tsuut'ina reflexes of PA unmarked full vowels in open-syllable (CV) noun stems, with Jeff concluding at 7m45 and again at 16m15 that these occur in Tsuut'ina the expected high tone. From 10m15 to 13m00, Jeff and Bruce explore possible contrasts between silo "my brother (woman speaking)" and silo "it is lying there (rope-like or plural objects)". At 20m15, Jeff concludes that there is a split in the tonal development of PA *CVˑ noun and verb stems. After 21m45, the remainder of the discussion targets other instances of PA *CVˑ verb stems (e.g., "s/he went", "it is cooked", etc.). Side B: continued. Recording begins with further discussion of emergence of Tsuut'ina mid and high tone from PA *CVˑ syllables (start�2m15), noting a split in the tonal development of Tsuut'ina noun and verb stems. Discussion then turns to manner prefixes, exploring "make/do" and "make/do it" (3m00�end) with ʔá-, xa-, and dà- prefixes.
