Description:Side A: tape 2: Jeff Leer and Jim Kari discuss grammar with Bruce Starlight; Proto-Athabaskan languages. 31:19. Linguistic consultation session involving Bruce Starlight, Gary Donovan, Jeff Leer, and Jim Kari in Fairbanks, AK, in the summer of 1996. From start6m50, this recording duplicates ANLC0748A (i.e., two separate, partially overlapping recordings of the same session, with this recording starting before ANLC0748A). This suggests that the recording date on at least one of these recordings is incorrect. Recording begins with discussion of "say" and "tell" (start11m00), followed by paradigm forms for "be sitting", "sit down", and "make O sit, keep O sitting" (12m4529m15). Recording ends with tone contrasts between "me, I", "my mind", and "my face" (29m1529m20), and the beginning of a tone contrast set involving "buffalo" (31m15end). Side B: Vocabulary; Transitive verb list; Tones. 31:21. Linguistic consultation session involving Bruce Starlight, Gary Donovan, Jeff Leer, and Jim Kari in Fairbanks, AK, in the summer of 1996. Immediate continuation of ANLC0751A. From start27m00, this recording duplicates ANLC0748B (i.e., two separate, partially overlapping recordings of the same session, with this recording starting after ANLC0748B). Recording begins with tone contrasts between "buffalo", "s/he says that", and "it's flowing out" (start0m30). From 13m3026m00, discussion of paradigm forms associated with "be emaciated, skinny", "be dry", "dry O", "dried O", "be drying", and "be dried". Recording ends with discussion of occurance of low-tone vowels under different prefixation conditions in si-perfective paradigms and the realization of tone contours (27m00end). Comments: Tsuutina formerly known as Sarcee. Likely for a workshop. It sounds like Jeff is taking notes on a blackboard. Description provided by Chris Cox, 11/19/2015.
