OLAC, the Open Language Archives Community, was founded two years ago, at the Workshop on Web-Based Language Documentation and Description, in December 2000. The goal of this workshop is to revise the OLAC standards and controlled vocabularies, to review OLAC archives and services, and to hear proposals for new activities.
